Executive Committee Approves Key Strategic Decisions for the Second Half of 2026

The Executive Committee of the World Federation of Acrobatic Dances and Dance Sports (WFADS) held its regular meeting on 10 July 2026, during which a number of important strategic and operational decisions were adopted to support the Federation’s continued international development.
Continued International Expansion of Acrobatic Rock’n’Roll

The Executive Committee acknowledged the successful organisation of the Federation’s major international Acrobatic Rock’n’Roll and Acro Swing events held during the first half of 2026, including:

• WFADS African Championship – Dakar, Senegal (14 March 2026);
• WFADS Asian Championship – New Delhi, India (8 May 2026);
• WFADS World Cup – Lyon, France (4 July 2026).

The Executive Committee recognised the significant contribution made by the local organising committees, officials and volunteers to the successful delivery of these events. Their commitment has played an important role in the continued international expansion of Acrobatic Rock’n’Roll, confirming the successful development of the Federation’s disciplines across Africa, Asia and Europe.

The Executive Committee also noted that the upcoming WFADS American Championship, to be held on 10 October 2026 in Mexico City, Mexico, will further extend the Federation’s competition programme to the American continent, creating new opportunities for athletes, officials and organisers worldwide.

Education of International Officials

Supporting this continued development, the Executive Committee approved the organisation of the WFADS International Judging Seminar in Acrobatic Rock’n’Roll and Acro Swing, which will be held on 3 August 2026.

The Executive Committee also approved the official judging panels for:

• International Competition “Become a Champion” – Stage IV (19 September 2026, Minsk, Republic of Belarus);
• WFADS  American Championship (10 October 2026, Mexico City, Mexico).

The appointments were made with particular attention to the professional qualifications, international experience and geographical representation of the officials, ensuring a transparent nomination process while maintaining the Federation’s high standards of officiating. The approved judging panels will be published in the relevant event sections of the official WFADS website.

International Competition Calendar

The Executive Committee approved amendments to the 2026 WFADS Events Calendar, confirming several important international events scheduled for the second half of the year.

Among the confirmed events is the WFADS ShowDance Championship, which will take place on 5 December 2026 in Langxi, People’s Republic of China, further strengthening the Federation’s international competition programme.

The Executive Committee also confirmed the Federation’s flagship international event, which will bring together all three official WFADS disciplines — DanceSport, Acrobatic Rock’n’Roll and Breaking — under one roof at the Dubai World Trade Centre, United Arab Emirates, from 13 to 20 December 2026.

The Executive Committee approved the draft 2027 WFADS Events Calendar, which will continue to be coordinated with local organisers before being presented for final approval at the next Executive Committee meeting in September 2026.

Strategic Development Continues
